COVID-19 News and Resources for the P.S. ARTS Community

In response to school closures and interruptions in vital services to children and families due to the COVID-19 pandemic, P.S. ARTS is sharing up-to-date news, at-home learning activities, and general resources for teachers, parents, caregivers, artists, and others in our community so we can all stay informed, engaged with each other, and prepared for a rapidly changing future.

Free Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe offers free access to its Creative Cloud apps for students and teachers if set up by their campus IT admin

STEAM Lessons: MIT gives free online STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathmatics) lessons for K-12 which include videos and lesson models

TV Teaching: PBS SoCal, KCET, and LAUSD partnered up to create their At-Home Learning series for Pre K to 12th graders airing on local television stations

Wide Open School: From K-12 education subjects, to life skill lessons and educator resources, Wide Open School has a beautifully organized list of fun things to keep students busy

Music Lessons: Little Kids Rock is offering free vocal and instrumental lessons

Gotham Reads: Listen to famous children’s books authors and celebrities read books, new videos posted daily

Live Online Classes: ActivityHero offers free live online classes for all ages with topics such as coding, drawing, yoga, and more

Scholastic: Scholastic is offering 20 days of online learning activities for free

Imagineering in a Box: Walt Disney and Kahn Academy teamed up to create a video series about what goes on behind the scenes to design a theme park

Draw with Nickelodeon: Nickelodeon artists lead drawing tutorials for some of our favorite cartoon characters

Lunchtime Doodles: Artist Mo Willems leads a doodle drawing session every weekday at 1 PM
