P.S. Arts summer intern

We’re so happy to welcome Isabel Sung, our new summer intern! We asked her a few “get-to-know-you” questions – check out what she had to say!

Isabel Sung, our summer intern, standing in front of the ocean. Briefly introduce yourself and explain your position at P.S. ARTS.

My name is Isabel and I am P.S. ARTS’ Getty Marrow Education Intern. I recently graduated from Occidental College with a major in East Asian Studies and a minor in Art History. This summer I will be working on P.S.ARTS’ To Go! resource guides in addition to creating video content to make the projects accessible at home. I will also be working to help transition programs to online learning and coordinating digital workshops, such as our Family Art Night projects!

What book is currently on your nightstand?

This book is on my hypothetical nightstand since I am reading it online, but I am currently reading The End of Policing by Alex Vitale.

What is currently the most played song you’ve been listening to?

I just discovered FAVORITE MISTAKE by Giveon and have been listening to his songs on repeat.

Where is your favorite place to view or take part in art in Los Angeles?

I really enjoy seeing the South and Southeast Asian Collection at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. My favorite parts of the collection are the stone sculptures! I also enjoy seeing local art in my neighborhood, whether it be observing all the different murals around Eagle Rock or participating in community workshops at local galleries.

What famous person, either dead or alive, would you choose to take out for coffee?

I would love to have coffee with filmmaker Bong Joon Ho. One of my favorite movies is Snowpiercer and I also really enjoyed watching Parasite earlier this year! I’ve watched both movies multiple times during quarantine.

Thank you, Isabel! We are so excited to have you on as our 2020 summer intern. We look forward to hearing more about your projects this summer.
