Coeur d'Alene Elementary School
Coeur d’Alene Elementary School in Venice, CA is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and serves approximately 492 pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade students under the direction of Principal Andrew Jenkins. Coeur d’Alene is the proud recipient of the 2008 California Distinguished School Award, as well as the 2007 Los Angeles Music Center’s prestigious BRAVO award for excellence in the arts. P.S. ARTS has provided arts education to Coeur d’Alene since 1992 and currently offers music with Viktoriya Babchenko and visual arts with Ann Barron and Michael Delgado.

Free or Reduced Cost Meal (FRPM) Program: This is a federal program administered by the US Department of Agriculture. Participation in the program is by application and is based on the income of the child’s parent or guardian. A child’s family income must fall below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level to qualify for reduced-cost meals, or below 130% of the Federal Poverty Level to qualify for free meals. Not all eligible children are enrolled in the program, so these numbers do not reflect all low-income school-age children. Currently, 73% of P.S. ARTS students are enrolled in the Free or Reduced Cost Meal Program.
English Language Learner (ELL) Students: English Language Learner students are classified based on assessment procedures that determine they lack the clearly defined English language skills of listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing necessary to succeed in the school’s regular instructional programs. Currently, 45% of P.S. ARTS students are English Language Learners.
