Position:  Program Associate - Temporary/Part-Time

Location: P.S. ARTS Offices, Los Angeles
                                                        
POSITION SUMMARY: Under direct supervision by the Program Manager, the Program Associate provides administrative, evaluative, and logistical support for the Program department’s activities. This is a temporary part-time position with the possibility of growth into a permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support for P.S. ARTS’ Program Team, including, but not limited to, maintaining calendar, coordinating meetings, managing faculty professional networking site, and ordering supplies
  • Perform data entry and create reports for Director of Programming
  • Shoot, archive, and edit video footage of programs
  • Coordinate and maintain logistics including supply budgets, inventories and databases
  • Process check requests and track expenditures to submit to Finance department
  • Research arts education issues and current events, and contribute to department newsletter
  • Archive images of student work, grant documentation, surveys and program video
  • Other related projects and general office support as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Interest in and commitment to the P.S. ARTS mission
  • Experience working in an arts education setting a plus
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel and other Office suite skills
  • Some knowledge of data analysis and statistics a plus
  • Familiarity with iMovie
  • Ability to help develop arts education curriculum a plus
  • An eye for filmmaking and video editing skills a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfortable with Apple operating systems
  • Creative problem solver and self-directed
  • Strong editing skills helpful
  • English/Spanish bilingual a plus
  • BA or BS degree

Salary:   $16/per hour, 24 hours per week

Position: Teaching Artist

P.S. ARTS is currently seeking experienced substitute, part time and full time teaching artists in Theater, Musical Theater, Music and Visual Arts. P.S. ARTS’ mission is to improve the lives of children by bringing arts education to underserved public schools and their communities.
 
Responsibilities:
·    Develop a sequential, standards-based curriculum in the arts
·    Teach an arts discipline across multiple grade levels
·    Address the learning needs of diverse student populations
·    Identify and plan cross curriculum connections in and across multiple subject areas
·    Submit documentation of teaching practice, including curriculum, lesson plans and assessments.
·    Represent P.S. ARTS amongst multiple school community stakeholders, including classroom teachers, parents, administration, and donors
·    Apply knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development into teaching practice
 
Skills, Qualifications, Requirements:
·    BA degree in arts, education, community arts or relevant field of study. MA/MFA preferred.
·    Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably in underserved school communities
·    Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and expertise in a specific arts discipline
·    Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of or a familiarity with the California Visual And Performing Arts Standards.
·    Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment and with various school community members
·    For music teaching artists, experience with/training in Orff-Schulwerk, Dalcroze and/or Kodaly methodologies preferred.
 
Compensation:
Salary dependent on experience and education.
